Waseca Legion helps feed New Richland First Responders
The Waseca Legion held a Hero’s Appreciation Breakfast on Sunday Sept. 20. This all-you-can-eat event was held to honor those who serve our community, including law enforcement, fire fighters, emergency medical providers, first responders and medical personnel. All heroes ate for free.
Mike Anderson and Mary Jo Knudson were manning the ticket counter. Knudson mentioned traffic had been fairly light because of numerous other events in town. In response, organizers decided to deliver food to safety agencies in both Waseca and New Richland.
Kevin Dickie, who had suited up with an apron said, “All heroes get in for free. All money raised is donated to the New Richland Flood Relief.” Bruce Tappe, who organized a lot of the goings on said, “Kwik Trip donated the juice, milk, Texas toast and the eggs. Hy Vee gave us the syrup, bacon and the sausage. He also thanked Liza Buker for volunteering to deliver meals.
