According to Waseca Area Neighborhood Service Center director Cindy Kolander, the thrift store has been notified the sidewalk along the building’s east side will be removed sometime during the week of Oct. 13 and work along that wall will continue for as much as the next two weeks. With access to the thrift store closed off, “We’ve decided to close the store for that week and through the following week, opening again the week of Oct. 27,” shares Kolander.
The store is located at 201 Third Avenue Northwest in Waseca; because that is deep in a zone that has been undergoing construction for the past several weeks, operations there have been interfered with for some time.
She emphasizes that the food shelf, which has been using its back door usually used for deliveries as its public access during the construction, will still be accessible to customers and will not be affected by the closure.
Kolander says the staff has decided to make use of the down time in the store to “refresh” some elements of the operation. “We should have some exciting changes in place when we open back up,” she observes.
