Waseca Art Council launches 50th anniversary celebration

The Waseca Art Council has been waiting to announce its 9th annual Great Fall Get Together, taking place on Saturday, October 25, 2025, from 6–9 PM at the Starfire Event Center’s Black & White Room (204 2nd Ave SW, Waseca). This year’s event promises to be the most exciting yet, as it officially kicks off the Art Center’s 50th Anniversary celebration and introduces a vital new building maintenance campaign.

 

“This won’t be just a party, it’s the beginning of a bold chapter for the Art Center,” said Molly Erdman, Art’s Council Secretary. “We’re using this milestone to focus our fundraising on essential building needs, including addressing our decaying tuckpoint.”

 

In honor of the community’s steadfast support, the Council will unveil its Brick Donation Wall at the event. Supporters will have the opportunity to become a literal part of the Center’s foundation, with donor names inscribed on individual bricks. “Our donors are the cornerstone of this organization,” said Monica Priebe, the event Chair. “This wall is our tribute to them.”

 

Returning for a second year, the Starfire’s Black and White Room provides a striking backdrop for the event, which will showcase a black and gold theme in honor of the golden anniversary.

 

“We’re excited to see how the gold accents shine against the dramatic venue,” said Ann Johannsen, committee member.

 

Guests will enjoy an elegant evening filled with live music by Crista Bohlmann, joined by special guest Jerimy on cello, adding a rich, intimate soundscape to the night. Attendees can indulge in a spread of appetizers, desserts, and a full bar, while participating in both live and silent auctions featuring a variety of unique items. The evening will also feature games, door prizes, and other surprises, making this a truly festive and unforgettable celebration. This year, the event is being elevated to match the energy of their 50th year.

 

The Great Fall Get Together is the Art Center’s largest fundraising event of the year, and organizers are grateful for the continued support of local sponsors. “Year after year, we have seen this event grow in sponsorship support, event participants, and donations. Appreciation and care of the arts is not lost in rural America. This area is rich with talent and desire for the arts.” said
