Whispering Creek has picnic

About 150 guests joined the residents of Whispering Creek in Janesville for the senior care facility’s annual outdoor family picnic event from 11 to 1 on Sunday, July 9. Those attending were treated to typical fare which included hot dogs, hamburgers, baked beans and the like.
Large outdoor tents provided a space to eat and then visit as family members of all ages enjoyed a sunny day with temperatures in the 70s. “It couldn’t be more perfect,” said one diner. “It’s a little touch of home to get together like this.”
The musical group “In A Bind,” which includes Deb Borneke, Melanie Morrow and Jenna Byron, provided entertainment for the event.
Whispering Creek administrator Pete Madel mentioned that the annual picnic was begun more than 20 years ago and has been consistent ever since, with a few years’ break taken because of Covid. “It’s a nice touch,” he commented. “Everyone enjoys an occasional change from the routine, and this has worked out very well.
