GRAND MARSHALLS - The 2022 Farm and City Days Grand Marshalls were the three oldest businesses in New Richland, Bonnerup Funeral Service, the State Bank of New Richland and the NRHEG Star Eagle. Representing those businesses at the New Richland Fire Department pancake breakfast are, from left: Bonnerup: Lori Tuchtenhagen, Larry Thorstad, Lanae Thorstad, Andrew Schwarz, Kasie Watkins, Tammy Busho and Amy Ihrke; SBNR, Matt Harrington, Kristi Harrington, and Star Eagle, Eli Lutgens. Farm and City Day’s is set for this weekend, July 7-9. 

The big weekend is here

Farm & City Days, the annual celebration that seems to swell the population of the town by several hundred, runs Friday through Sunday, July 7-9. The parade is scheduled for 5 p.m. Saturday, followed by a street dance from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. on Broadway. 
The weekend starts Friday as the Lions Club serves baked potatoes and root beer floats from 4:30-6:30 Friday at City Hall. At 6:30 p.m. the Commercial Club will host bingo at the dance area on Broadway: $10 for 10 games. A bean bag tournament at NR Liquor starts at 7 p.m. and a movie in the park at 9:30 p.m. will conclude the evening's fun. 
Saturday starts bright and early with the annual fire department pancake breakfast from 7-10 a.m., where the grand marshal of the parade will be announced. As usual, Jim Kozan will provide entertainment.
Saturday is packed with events, highlighted by the parade at 5 p.m.
A tradition, the Top 25 Antique Car and Tractor Show, is Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. near the intersection of Broadway and First St. NW,
There are many events this year, including some which are new:
Inaugural Golf Car Show from 9 a.m. to noon.
Friends of the Library book sale at the library from 9 a.m. to noon.
Vendor fair from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. 
Three-person golf tournament beginning at 9 a.m. at Riverview Golf Course. 
Neighbors Meats events from 10 a.m. to noon. These include CowPie Bingo, meat grading, and poultry races
Scavenger hunts at the Craft Mall from 10 a.m. to noon.
NR Area Historical Society Display from 10 a.m. till 4 p.m. on Broadway.
NRHEG Cheer Camp Performance on Broadway at 10 a.m. 
Kiddie Parade on Wheels at 11:30 a.m. 
Bounce Houses at the city park from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
Other events along main street and city park include Free caricatures by Casey, a Bocce Ball  tournament, live music at the park by Melissa Schulz, cheerleaders face painting, a petting zoo from 1. to 3 p.m., St. Olaf Brewing Company tasting, horse-drawn wagon rides, and a kids’ power pedal tractor pull.
Saturday night concludes with the parade at 5 p.m. and street dance from 8 to 11 p.m.
On Sunday, winning button numbers are drawn following a community worship at the park at 10 a.m. Water wars are set for noon. Bingo is the final event at 1 p.m. in city park. 
Farm and City Days buttons are $5 and are available at the Star Eagle and many other New Richland businesses. Buttons give you discounted breakfast on Saturday, free admission to the Saturday night street dance and a chance to win prizes up to $200. Buttons won’t be sold once Farm & City Days begins.
