Mural to grace Waldorf building

The City of Waldorf was awarded a $3,000 arts grant from the Prairie Lakes Regional Arts Council. The grant was announced on Monday, March 13 at the Waldorf City Council meeting; Funds will be used for a 50-foot-long, 12-foot-high mural on the old “Eisen” building across the street from the community center. Artist Nell Tryst will be painting the mural. A rough sketch was provided, but the design is not final. Charlie Barnes, who owns the building which the mural is being painted on, has requested that the mural feature a large American Flag prominently displayed somewhere near its center. A dedication ceremony is planned for Waldorf Days in August.
