Ready for 2023

New Waseca school board member Theron Kruger was sworn in at the board’s January 5 organizational meeting. Alyssa Bowers, the other new member, was not present. School board chair Julie Anderson led the process of election of officers through school board policies 202 and 209, which can be found on their web site.  Julie Anderson holds the chair position for the coming year, Edita Mansfield steps in as vice chair, Dave Dunn remains clerk, and Grant Scheffert is taking over as treasurer. Charlie Priebe and the two new members hold director positions.

The board went on to establish a tentative meeting schedule for 2023, designate the Waseca County News as the official newspaper, designate depositories, the school attorney, the board member per diem and other allowance, the payment of claims schedule for 2023, and the school board representatives for the school business committees of negotiations, school board education liaison, arena board of directors, advisory council, insurance and safety, policy review, superintendent evaluation, finance, district accountability, facilities, professional growth and development, continuing education, and district personnel. No information items or action items were covered at this meeting, but Superintendent Eric Hudspith reminded members and visitors of the next meeting on January 19.
