Waseca 4-H receives $2,500 grant

Waseca County 4-H received a grant for $2,500 for programming enhancements during the Waseca Area Foundation’s awards program in November.

Amy Nelson, 4-H extension educator, was accompanied by high school students Joe and Isaac Feldcamp when she accepted the grant. The Feldcamp’s show rabbits, chickens, and other non-livestock through 4-H. “I’ve been to the state fair twice,” Joe Feldamp said. “I would just like to say thank you to 4-H for providing opportunities for youth like me.” Isaac Feldcamp agreed and said 4-H has allotted him the opportunity to make a lot of friends.

More than 200 youth are enrolled in the local 4-H according to Nelson, who said 4-H prepares students to be public speakers, communicators, to lead our community into the future. These funds will be used to reach more youth not currently reached through 4-H programs.
