Junior achievement receives $3,000

Junior Achievement received $3,000 for Waseca Schools Programming during the Waseca Area Foundation’s annual awards program November 9, 2022. Vanessa Jensen from Junior Achievement is the district manager serving students in Owatonna, Waseca, Medford, and New Richland. Jensen has spoken at several local functions, most recently giving a presentation at a Waseca City Council meeting. This grant will be giving $3,000 to fund programs in local classrooms for students in grades k-12. Their programs include topics about financial literacy, entrepreneurship, college planning, post secondary opportunities, or for soon-to-be graduates, the decision to enter the workforce. “We want those students to be ready for their next step and we’re excited to partner with the community to make that happen,” manager Jensen shared after accepting the grant.
