Waseca Community Education receives two grants for youth theatre

Waseca Community Education received two grants, $3,000 for Summer Youth Theatre, and $10,000 for youth development scholarships during the Waseca Area Foundation’s annual awards program November 9, 2022.

The theater program put on two plays this past year, one in June and another in July. These additional funds will allow for a third production, this time in the spring. The WAF Youth Development grant provides discounts for numerous programs and activities to Waseca public school students. Nearly 100 students, determined by their qualification for discounted lunches, are eligible for discounts for community ed classes and other offerings. “We’re getting kids in programs because of this grant,” Paul DeMorett of community education shared after he accepted the award.
