Korbin Schumacher and Ella Dufault were crowned Waseca Snow Week King and Queen Thursday morning Feb. 16, in the high school gymnasium.

Schumacher, Dufault named king and queen
Snow week royalty gathered in the Waseca High School gymnasium Thursday morning, Feb. 16 to find out who among them would be king and queen. Student Council President Aubrey Hanson and Senior Class President Avery Madsen crowned Korbin Schumacher and Ella Dufault Waseca snow Week royals. The ceremony’s emcees were Hailey Dettmer and Jayme Sandbeck.
The morning started with introductions of the royalty, followed by some announcements. Sports coaches also spoke. Activities director Joe Hedervare and Principal Miller introduced the ExCEL Award winners and Triple ‘A’ Winners. Their introductions can be found in this week’s paper. 
Emcee’s Dettmer and Sandbeck read the following introductions of the 2023 royalty:
Ella Dufault, daughter of Barry and Stacey Dufault, escorted by Joey Adamek, son of Todd and Katie Adamek. Ella is a member of the marching band, in select choir and State Street. She is a member of Christ Community Church, a member of the Minnesota Honor Society. Ella is involved in cross country, basketball and track, she is also a swimming instructor. Joey is a member  of the  Owatonna fishing team and works for Silver Bull Farms and the Janesville DQ. He is also a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Janesville.
Lindsey Kopetzki, daughter of Craig and Tracy Kopetzki, escorted by Zander Honstad, son of Rich and Amanda Honstad. Lindsey is involved in symphonic band, marching band, jazz band, select choir, State Street, sextets and is a member of the all-state choir. She is also in golf, theater, student council, and also serves as a school board representative, a member of Minnesota Honor Society and  Minnwest Bank junior board. Lindsey is employed at The Mill event center and is a member of Sacred Heart Church.  Zander is involved in basketball, golf, BPA and is a member of the Minnesota Honor Society. He works at Yellow Mushroom and is a member of Christ the King Lutheran Church.
Thyme Lang, daughter of Scott and Kipling Lang, escorted by Ethan Davis, son of Maria Cole and Marshal Davis. Thyme is a member of the Minnesota Honor Society, involved in soccer, track, colorguard, theater/drama club and cheerleading. She is a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Janesville . Ethan is a member of the marching band and jazz band. He works at Climate by Design International in Owatonna. Ethan plans to attend the U of M Twin Cities.
Sarah Robbins, daughter of Kent and Wendi Robbins, escorted by Griffin Krautkremer, son of Jayme and Amy Krautkremer. Sarah is in BPA, a tennis captain and a girls’ basketball manager. Griffin is a member of Grace Lutheran Church, one of the captains of the boys’ hockey team, on the baseball team, a member of the Minnesota Honor Society, and involved in 4-H and FCA. He is employed with Gutter Pros.
Chloe Schumacher, daughter of Joe and Andrea Schumacher, escorted by Leo Harguth, son of Dan and Tara Harguth. Chloe is a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and of the Minnesota Honor Society. She works at Alee Services and the golf course in the summer.  Leo  is involved in football, NRHEG trap team, hockey, Owatonna Fishing League, and is a member of Sacred Heart Church. He works at Woodridge Interiors, Southford Seed, Southfork Acres and TDL Farms.
Kloe Wadd, daughter of Trent and Kari Wadd, escorted by Korbin Schumacher, son of Craig and Kari Jo Schumacher. Kloe is involved in volleyball, basketball, track, and FFA. She is a 4-H County Ambassador, a member of the Minnesota Honor Society, Exchange Club, Minnwest Junior Board, select choir, State Street. She is a member of North Waseca Lutheran Church, is on the CTE Advisory committee and a WBA youth coach. Kloe is co-owner of Mason’s Sweet Corn. Korbin is involved in football, wrestling, baseball, choir, State Street, yearbook, DECA, BPA and career and technical education.  He is a member of Sacred Heart Church.
