Janesville’s Autumn Acres Farm’s sunflower field opened to the public as its flowers bloomed on July 30 and it is expected to remain open through August 13, pending weather. Visitors are invited to pose for pictures at a variety of photo spots and enjoy the ambiance of the field.
There is no admission fee for visiting the field, but a $4 free-will donation per person is suggested. The rest of the farm, including the Janesville village’s 19th century schoolhouse, will remain closed during sunflower season.
Recently, two sessions of the ticketed Salutations and Sunflowers yoga experience took place on August 3 and 8.
Autumn Acres Farm is owned and operated by Cheryl and Chad Bleess, who purchased it from Cheryl’s grandparents in 2009. In recent years, the farm has grown to include a variety of public events and experiences.
Autumn Acres Farm’s pumpkin patch is expected to open in September. On September 23, the farm will be hosting its annual Fall Festival, with the Family Fun Fest taking place October 7. The ticketed date night experience is expected to happen this fall, as well. The most up-to-date information about the farm’s events can be found at the Autumn Acres Farm-Minnesota Facebook page.
