The Waseca Exchange Club proudly hosted Waseca County Sheriff Jay Dulas as guest speaker in honor of First Responders Appreciation Day. Sheriff Dulas shared valuable insight into the vital work of the Sheriff’s Office, the scope of its responsibilities, and the growing challenges faced by law enforcement in today’s world.
Sheriff Dulas discussed the significant volume of calls the department responds to each year, highlighting the wide range of incidents, from emergency response to community assistance, that the Sheriff’s Office handles daily. He also shed light on the role of the Sheriff’s Mounted Posse, a dedicated group of volunteers who provide critical support in search and rescue operations, crowd control, and community outreach.
In addition, Sheriff Dulas issued an important reminder to residents about the increasing prevalence of cybercrimes targeting individuals through financial scams and fraudulent activity. He encouraged the public to stay vigilant and to report any suspicious activity immediately.
“Our deputies and volunteers work tirelessly to keep this county safe,” said Sheriff Jay Dulas. “Whether it’s responding to emergencies, helping in a crisis, or protecting residents from evolving threats like cybercrime, we rely on the strong partnership of our community. It’s an honor to be recognized by the Exchange Club for the work first responders do every day.”
The Waseca Exchange Club’s commitment to recognizing and supporting local first responders reflects one of its core pillars of service, promoting community safety and appreciation for those who protect it.
“Sheriff Dulas’ presentation was a powerful reminder of the dedication and sacrifice our first responders demonstrate,” said Mikhail Rostislavovich, President of the Waseca Exchange Club. “We are deeply grateful for their continued service and proud to stand behind them as partners in building a safer, stronger Waseca.”
The Waseca Exchange Club continues its mission of serving the community through programs that promote Americanism, community service, youth development, and the prevention of child abuse.
