'Learning for All' strategic plan

During the Waseca school board’s regular business meeting, Superintendent Eric Hudspith reported the fifteen teachers new to the district this year completed orientation and met the rest of the staff. Hudspith said three or four were student teachers in Waseca and have chosen to stay.

Hudspith also emphasized the strategic plan focus this year is “Learning for All.” He said the district will be looking at student results, data, and  progress reports, “particularly from a leadership perspective.”

All students in the district will begin on Wednesday Sept. 3. “We continue to see positive feedback on all students starting on the same day,” Hudspith told the board. “It really allows us to serve all of our students well as opposed to having the staggered start.”

Business Manager Sarah Brandt will be bringing the preliminary levy to the board for approval in September, along with other final revenue reports once the enrollment numbers are in from the state.

The next work session will be Sept. 4.
