JR High holds final concert

The Waseca Junior High Concert Band, consisting of musicians in seventh and eighth grades, had their spring and end of the year performance the night of June 2 at the Waseca High School performing arts center (PAC).
The evening’s concert, directed by Jay Downie, consisted of six songs introduced by eighth-grade band members.
To a decently filled PAC full of proud parents and relatives recording their kids, the band played “Aggressivo,” by Randall Standridge as their first song. Daniel-J’kei Petty, the eighth grade tuba player, introduced the band’s second song, “Ex’s and Oh’s” arranged by Michale Brown and based on the hit pop song by Elle King. The third song was “Pirates of the Caribbean” arranged by Paul Murtha. “Dominion” by Randall Standridge was introduced by trumpet player Elliott Galle as the fourth song. “Blue Ridge Reel” by Brain Balmages, the fifth song, was introduced by clarinet player Katelyn Weber. The final song of the night was introduced by clarinet player Isabella Garza as “Japanese War March” arranged by Eric Rath.
