TEAM Academy announced February's Students of the Month at their monthly CARES Assembly held Feb. 24, 2023. Students selected were Adrian Pickett, Maridia McGuire, Violet Sawa, Isaac Anderson, Avery Pechacek, Myles Majors, and Karime Solis.
Kindergartener Adrian Pickett says his favorite school subject is math and when he isn't in school he likes to play with his brothers. His favorite color is green, and his favorite food is pizza.
Maridia McGuire, second grade, also enjoys math and the color green. Her favorite food is spaghetti, and her favorite animals are wolves and coyotes. McGuire's love of animals makes her want to be a veterinarian, in order to take care of them.
Violet Sawa, second grade, says that the problem-solving in math class is her favorite thing about school; when she's not in school she prefers to watch TV. Her favorite animal is a cat, and her favorite color is pink. She wants to take care of people by working as a doctor.
Isaac Anderson, third grade, likes gym class. At home, he enjoys playing with his siblings to pass the time. His favorite animal is an orca whale, and his favorite food is nachos. Anderson says he hopes to play for the Buffalo Bills some day, his favorite sport being football.
Avery Pechacek, fourth grade, also says her favorite part of school is math, and her favorite animal is also a cat. Her favorite food is watermelon. She says the best advice she has for someone struggling is to just keep trying. Pechacek's dream is to become a kindergarten teacher so that she can use her math skills and creativity each day.
Myles Majors, fifth grade, is undecided on what he wants to be when he grows up. He says his favorite school subject is gym, and outside of school he likes watching movies. His favorite food is ramen, his favorite color is orange, and his best advice is to always try your best.
Karime Solis, sixth grade, says her favorite part of school is reading class because it's quiet. Her favorite food is sushi, and her favorite animal is puppies. Solis wants to be a singer, and especially enjoys Hispanic music. She is in band and choir at TEAM Academy. To anyone struggling, she says “Keep going and never give up.”
