RECRUITING - Climate by Design of Owatonna sponsored a career fair in Waseca. JoAnna Quade and Jane Lebert told area workers about their business, and about new jobs available because the company is expanding.

Climate by Design International (CDI), currently located at 2100 Park Drive in Owatonna, held a Waseca Career Fair at the American Legion May 18 and 19. JoAnna Quade, personnel recruiter specialist, and Jane Lebert, Personnel Director, staffed the event. Positions advertised included assembly, electrical test technician, electric wiring assembler, and fabricator.
The career fair comes in advance of CDI’s move to their new building, which will be ready to open in October and is four times the size of their current location. “We want to have it staffed and ready before it's open,” said Lebert.
CDI handles the full process, from design to manufacturing, of desiccant air conditioners, which dry the air as they cool and are used in a variety of settings such as food manufacturing, disaster relief, ice rinks, electric car batteries, and hospital surgical suites. CDI is a family-owned company celebrating thirty-two years of operations, which opened in the basement of Owatonna's Tom and Sue Peterson in 1991. CDI was also the first company to participate in Owatonna's youth skills training program, and currently has two Waseca High School seniors interning with the company through a similar program.
