Welcome back, Waseca Public Schools families!

As we turn the page from summer to fall, I want to extend a warm welcome back to all of our Waseca Public Schools students, families, and staff. The beginning of a new school year always brings a sense of excitement and possibility. It is a time for fresh starts, new friendships, and opportunities to grow both inside and outside of the classroom. Whether your child is stepping into kindergarten for the first time, transitioning to middle school, entering high school, or continuing their journey in between, we are grateful to partner with you in supporting their education and success.

Our staff has been working hard to prepare classrooms, lessons, and activities that are engaging, challenging, and welcoming. We want every student to feel a sense of belonging from the moment they walk through the door. As families, you play a vital role in this partnership, and your encouragement and involvement make a difference every single day. If you ever have questions about school supplies, back-to-school routines, or simply how to best support your child’s learning, please don’t hesitate to reach out to your child’s school. Clear communication and a strong home–school connection are essential to ensuring each student thrives.

As we settle into fall, I’d also like to remind families to keep Minnesota’s ever-changing weather in mind. Mornings and evenings can already be cool, and soon the temperatures will dip even further. Please send your children to school in clothing that allows them to be comfortable throughout the day, whether they are learning in the classroom, walking to and from school, or enjoying recess with their friends. When students are dressed appropriately, they can focus more fully on their learning and enjoy their time at school without distraction.

This year, our district continues to be guided by the shared vision of providing excellent opportunities for every student, every day. We know that education is about fostering character, building resilience, and helping students discover their passions. Together, with the support of families, staff, and our community, we can create an environment where every student feels safe, supported, and inspired to achieve their best.

On behalf of Waseca Public Schools, thank you for entrusting us with your children. We are excited for the year ahead and look forward to working together to make it a successful and memorable one.

Welcome back, and here’s to a great school year!
